WATER SURVIVAL SWIM LESSONS
Two Approaches
If your child fell into the water without supervision, what would he or she do? According to the CDC, children from ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates, with most accidents occurring in home swimming pools. Our first goal with brand-new swimmers is to minimize that risk by giving your child the skills to safely navigate the water and by equipping you as a caretaker with the knowledge and tools to be involved in the process.
We have two Water Survival tracks with the same goals but different methods: the Fast Track and the Gradual Track. We encourage you to pick the one that best suits you and your family!
The Fast Track is a more accelerated and rigorous water survival course designed for ages 18 months to 12 years.
It is usually a good starting point for children who do not yet have swimming skills. The goal is to equip children with the core basics of swimming so that they can calmly and quickly get to safety when accidentally submerged in the water.
If your goal is to achieve drowning prevention skills quickly, the Fast Track may be for you!
The Gradual Track is designed for any swimmer that is 6 months old and above. This program instills the same core, drowning-prevention skills as the Fast Track; however, the instructor teaches at a more relaxed pace with a gentle approach and lessons take place once or twice a week for as long as necessary.
Swim Together Group lessons are also an option with the Gradual Track. For water safety purposes, a parent (or close friend) is required to be in the pool during group lessons. Many swimmers and parents feel that this program better suits their lifestyle and comfort level!
